How spreading positivity can inspire ideas and transform meetings.
Did you know that people brainstorm better and solve problems better when they're in a good mood?
What does this mean for you? Well, first, if you're aiming to solve a problem or be creative and come up with new solutions on your own, one idea is to get yourself into a better mood. Research has shown that nonverbal behaviors can help. For instance, you can start by fake laughing. Or try watching a comedic video you know will make you laugh.
If that's not your style, consider working on creative tasks when you're already in a good mood. Personally, I find that my most productive creative time is at night. When I'm calmer and free from the distractions of meetings, my mind is more open to finding new solutions. This isn’t something I can schedule during the day; it comes and goes.

What about brainstorming with others? Whether you're leading the team or just participating, the mood you bring to the session matters. Bring happiness and joy into the meeting.
You don't need to formally start the meeting with anything special—just show up with joy and positivity. Your happiness will spread, helping others feel more creative and open to brainstorming. Research supports this idea, and even if it feels unconventional in a business setting, it's worth a try.

Bringing joy into your creative and problem-solving processes might seem simple, but it could make all the difference. And, if nothing else, it will create most enjoyable meetings. So go be creative and spread some happiness along the way.
